Post-Secondary & Career Planning
Beginning the Post-Secondary Research Process
Post-secondary planning is an important process that students at Craig Kielburger Secondary School are encouraged to begin as early as grade 9. With students having the option to pursue opportunities in an apprenticeship, at college, at university, or through directly entering the workforce upon graduation, there are many considerations to make as they plan both their high school courses and the road ahead.
Students will be assisted throughout their years at CKSS in choosing appropriate courses, programs, and extra-curricular opportunities that will facilitate the post secondary planning process. Two useful tools that students can begin to use as early as grade 9 are Career Cruising and My Blueprint.
My Blueprint
Site: www.myblueprint.ca/halton
Students use their OEN to enter their personal Planner.
*Important - this is how CKSS students will choose their courses
Using the site, students can begin by setting up heir own personal profile with a self-selected username and password. From there, they can choose the courses they would like to take over their years in high school, and then research available apprenticeship, college, university and work programs that would be open to them as a result of those course selections.
